Weekend brunch dates with the
girls are a weekly tradition. This morning we ended up at one of my fav brunch
locations in Brisbane,
Chester Street Bakery
This little bakery has a
"casual street dining vibe", with outdoor seating enclosed by a
white picket fence. If you are lucky enough to score a seat outside, you can
spend hours relaxing with your friends in the sun whilst enjoying great
coffee and food (in winter - go later in the morning to enjoy the sun).
One of the reasons why I love
Chester is for their gluten free bread- it is actually normal size!!!
Nothing disappoints me more than trying a new brunch location to have the
gluten free bread come out and it’s bite size. At Chester Street the bread is
baked onsite in a wood-fired oven. It’s absolutely delicious, crusty on
the outside and soft on the inside. They also have fresh loaves for sale but
you have get in quick, as it sells out pretty fast!
I like my bread extra toasted
with poached eggs and avocado*.
I would highly recommend
checking it out if you are in the Newstead neighbourhood.
32A Chester St, Newstead, 4006
*Avocado is considered high
FODMAP so only indulge if you know your tummy is able to handle it. I am
lucky enough to be able to enjoy avocado these days but I need to watch my
portion sizes. 1/8 of an avocado is considered FODMAP friendly by the
Monash University guide.
